At theMovement, we have a tremendous value on us as believers being an actual family, not just in word, but in practice. We realize that as a large church, it can be very easy to just be “part of the crowd,” and so we put a huge amount of effort into creating a diverse group of quality small groups that we call lifeGroups to help every believer genuinely become part of a family and have a place for them to discover more of who God is on a more practical, interactive level (for more information on our lifeGroups, click here). However, even though taking the step and becoming a part of a smaller group of believers to help you grow in your walk will be one of the most valuable things you’ll ever do, this also means that sometimes it isn’t the easiest thing to do. For many, showing up to someone’s home can be a little intimidating, so what we have done is created a specialized group to help you “get your feet wet” and see how a lifeGroup at theMovement works in a much easier way. Four times per year we start this group up, which meets at theMovement, and it lasts for 5 to 6 weeks, depending on the calendar. At this group, Pastor Jobey will not only take you through the lifeGroup Homework as you would in a “real” lifeGroup, but he will also get you accustomed to the format and ways many, if not most, of our lifeGroups follow. Additionally, as we are always starting new groups, many of the new and upcoming lifeGroup Leaders will join you for these sessions, and you will be able to know them in an easier way, probably even getting to know them enough to want to join their group at the end of the Intro lifeGroup’s session. The Intro lifeGroup will come to end just before the weekend of our church wide lifeGroup Signups (which are also quarterly), and you will then be given the option to join with one of the “real” lifeGroups, more than likely even with others who you met at the Intro lifeGroup.
